Start with your Netflix account
To cancel Netflix when Netflix bills you directly, sign in to Netflix in a browser and open your Account page. Netflix says the cancellation path appears in the Membership section, either as a link that guides you through cancellation or as instructions for your payment partner.
- Sign in to Netflix in a browser.
- Open your Account page.
- Go to the Membership section.
- Use the cancellation link if it appears.
- Follow the prompts until cancellation is finished.
- Check for the confirmation email Netflix sends to the account email address.
Signing out of Netflix, deleting the app, or removing Netflix from a device does not cancel the membership. The important thing is to finish the cancellation from the account or payment partner that controls billing.
If Netflix is billed through another company
Netflix is sometimes included in a package, mobile plan, TV provider, broadband bundle, or another billing partner. If you do not see the normal cancellation option inside Netflix, check the Membership section of your Netflix Account page for partner instructions.
Also check:
- the email address on your Netflix account
- your Netflix payment history
- recent card or bank statements
- your phone, internet, TV, or streaming bundle provider
- any package that includes Netflix as a benefit
That billing-source check matters because canceling the wrong place can leave the actual recurring charge active.
Check when access ends
If you cancel while there is time left in your billing period, Netflix says you can keep watching until the account closes at the end of that period. If the account is on hold, cancellation may close it immediately.
After canceling, write down:
- the date you canceled
- the email address on the account
- the final day you expect access to continue
- whether Netflix was billed directly or through a partner
- whether anyone else in your household could restart it
If you are worried the membership could be restarted by someone else, check Netflix's guidance on charged-after-canceling situations and account security.
Track the streaming subscriptions you keep
Canceling Netflix solves one subscription. The bigger habit is seeing which streaming plans are still active before the next renewal date.
Orbit helps iPhone users keep subscriptions, free trials, renewal dates, and recurring costs in one focused list. You can add the streaming services you keep, set reminders before annual or monthly renewals, and review the list when a service stops feeling worth it.
That way, canceling is not a panic search you repeat every few months. It becomes part of a calmer subscription review habit.
